APPROVED: Bedroom Count Increase

UPDATE: This legislation was approved by both chambers on 8-31-22 and sent to the Governor for signature on 9-7-22.

AB 916 was introduced on 2-17-21 by Assembly Member Salas.

This legislation would prohibit a city/county from requiring a public hearing when existing dwelling units are reconfigured for an increase to the bedroom count.


(Initially this bill was for an increase to the height of rear yard ADU projects, but was rewritten as a different measure)
