HOT: APPROVED: Tenant Appeal for Conditional Use

UPDATE: This legislation passed the BOS on 9-6-22 and is awaiting signature by the Mayor.

Ordinance 220130 was introduced on 2-1-22 by Supervisor Melgar. Supervisors Peskin, Walton, Preston, and Ronen also sponsored this legislation.

Would allow signatures of tenants to count toward the threshold needed for an appeal of a Conditional Use authorization. 20% of the verified tenants, including both commercial and residential tenants, would be required to appeal a CU application. Rental units occupied by multiple tenants would be limited to 1 signature per unit. Also, modifies the deadlines for hearings on CU appeals.
